Chicken & Broth:

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Noodles & Garnish:

  • 12 ounces egg noodles (Amish-style or wide)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook Chicken: In a pot, combine chicken, broth, butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme. Simmer until chicken is cooked.
  2. Shred & Cook Noodles: Shred chicken, return to pot, and add noodles. Cook until noodles are tender.
  3. Finish Dish: Stir in heavy cream (if using), adjust seasoning, and simmer briefly. Serve warm, garnished with parsley.
