Sauce:
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a small bowl or jar, whisk together soy sauce, broth, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and brown sugar. Add grated ginger, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Add Cornstarch: Mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry. Stir into the sauce.
- Use in Stir Fry: Add the sauce to cooked protein and vegetables. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened. Store any unused sauce in the refrigerator.

- You can make this sauce vegetarian by omitting oyster sauce and increasing hoisin sauce.
