Description

Indulge in the delightful combination of sweet blueberries and creamy cheese encased in flaky puff pastry with this easy-to-make Blueberry Cream Cheese Puff Pastry recipe.

Ingredients

Scale

Puff Pastry:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Cream Cheese Filling:

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Blueberry Filling:

  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon blueberry jam or preserves

Additional:

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Cream Cheese Filling: In a bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Make Blueberry Filling: In a separate bowl, gently toss the blueberries with the blueberry jam.
  4. Prepare Puff Pastry: Unfold the puff pastry sheet and cut into 4 equal squares. Spread a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each square, then top with the blueberry mixture.
  5. Form Pastries: Fold the corners toward the center, pinching gently to seal, or fold diagonally into triangles and crimp edges with a fork.
  6. Egg Wash and Bake: Beat the egg with water and brush over the pastry. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Finish and Serve: Cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute other berries or use a store-bought fruit spread.
  • For extra crispness, chill the assembled pastries in the fridge for 10 minutes before baking.
