Heavy Cream:

Salt:

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the sugar and stir constantly until melted and amber in color.
  2. The sugar will clump and then melt into a liquid. Keep stirring.

  3. Immediately add the butter and stir until fully melted and combined.
  4. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring. Allow the mixture to boil for 1 minute.
  5. Remove from heat, stir in salt and vanilla extract, and let cool for 10–15 minutes. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
