Marinade:
- 1 1/2 pounds flank or skirt steak
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Additional:
- 8 small corn tortillas
- Diced onion
- Chopped cilantro
- Lime wedges
- Salsa for serving
Instructions
- Marinate the Steak: Combine all marinade ingredients in a bowl or zip-top bag. Add steak, marinate for 2-8 hours.
- Grill the Steak: Preheat grill to medium-high. Grill steak 4-6 minutes per side. Rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.
- Prepare the Tacos: Warm tortillas, fill with carne asada, top with onion, cilantro, and salsa. Serve with lime wedges.
Notes
- For extra char, finish the steak over high heat.
- Both flank steak and skirt steak work well.
- Do not overcook the steak.
- Enhance with avocado or queso fresco.
