Description

These homemade cereal bars are a delightful treat that can be enjoyed for breakfast or as a snack. Made with crispy rice cereal and gooey marshmallows, these bars are a classic favorite for all ages.

Main Ingredients:

  • 4 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Add Flavorings: Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  3. Mix with Cereal: Add the crispy rice cereal and gently stir until all the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  4. Press into Pan: Quickly transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch pan and press down evenly with a spatula or wax paper.
  5. Cool and Cut: Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.

  • For extra flavor, add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, or dried fruit.
