Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, diced into 1-inch pieces
Sauce
- 2 cans (10.75 ounces each) condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1/4 cup milk
Stuffing
- 2 boxes (6 ounces each) Stove Top Chicken Stuffing mix
- 1 ½ cups chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by spraying it with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Chicken: Dice the boneless skinless chicken breasts into 1-inch pieces and evenly spread them in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper to enhance flavor.
- Make Sauce & Assemble: In a medium bowl, whisk together the two cans of condensed cream of chicken soup and 1/4 cup of milk until smooth. Pour this creamy mixture evenly over the chicken in the baking dish. Next, sprinkle the dry Stove Top chicken stuffing mix evenly over the top of the soup layer.
- Add Broth: Pour 1 ½ cups of chicken broth slowly over the stuffing mix, ensuring as much of the stuffing as possible is moistened. This will help the stuffing cook properly and absorb flavors.
- Bake: Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil to retain moisture. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
- Rest and Serve: Remove the dish from the oven and let it stand, covered, for 10 minutes. This resting time allows the flavors to settle and the stuffing to firm up slightly. Serve warm and enjoy your comforting Chicken & Stuffing Bake!
Notes
- For a crispier stuffing top, remove the foil during the last 5-10 minutes of baking.
- You can substitute cream of mushroom soup if you prefer a different flavor profile.
- Use low-sodium chicken broth to reduce salt content.
- This dish can be prepared ahead by assembling it in the baking dish and refrigerating for up to 24 hours before baking.
- Consider adding vegetables like green beans or carrots for added nutrition.
