Description

These Chilli Stuffed Garlic Dough Balls are a flavorful twist on traditional garlic bread, featuring a spicy kick from jalapeños or red chillies and gooey melted mozzarella cheese, all tucked inside soft, pillowy dough balls. Perfect for serving as a party appetizer or alongside your favorite Italian dishes.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (plus extra for greasing)

Filling:

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pickled jalapeños or fresh red chilli

Garlic Butter:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Dough Preparation: In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Add warm water and olive oil; mix into a dough. Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes. Let rise for 1 hour.
  2. Assembly: Preheat oven to 375°F. Divide dough, flatten each piece, add mozzarella and jalapeños, seal, and roll into balls. Place in a baking dish.
  3. Garlic Butter: Mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, and salt. Brush over dough balls. Bake for 20–22 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Serve: Brush with remaining garlic butter and serve warm.

Notes

  • Adjust spice level to taste by varying the amount of chilli used.
  • Dough balls can be made ahead and reheated as needed.
  • Pair with marinara or garlic dip for added flavor.
