Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Marinade:
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
Sauce:
- 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Additional:
- 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, chicken broth, oyster sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
- Stir-Fry Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken slices and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
- Cook Broccoli: In the same skillet, add the remaining oil if needed. Sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant. Add broccoli and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Combine: Return chicken to the skillet. Pour in the sauce mixture. Bring to a simmer, then stir in the cornstarch slurry. Cook until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken and broccoli.
- Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and serve hot with steamed rice.
Notes
- For a healthier option, steam the broccoli separately and add it at the end.
- Adjust the amount of soy sauce or use tamari for a gluten-free version.
