Cake:
- 1 cup Guinness stout
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 2 large eggs

- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
Frosting:
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch springform pan.
- Mix Guinness and butter: Combine Guinness and butter in a saucepan, add cocoa powder and sugar, then cool.
- Prepare wet ingredients: Whisk sour cream, eggs, and vanilla; combine with Guinness mixture.
- Add dry ingredients: Stir in flour and baking soda. Pour batter into pan and bake for 45–50 minutes.
- Make frosting: Beat cream cheese, add powdered sugar, stream in heavy cream, and spread over cooled cake.
