Description

A comforting and creamy Crock Pot Italian Chicken recipe featuring tender chicken breasts cooked slowly with Italian dressing, cream soups, and cream cheese. Perfectly served over egg noodles or rice, this easy slow cooker meal is packed with rich flavors and requires minimal effort, making it ideal for busy weeknights or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Sauce

  • 4 to 5 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet Good Seasons Italian dressing mix
  • 1 can (10 ounces) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can (10 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 block (8 ounces) cream cheese, cut into cubes

To Serve

  • Cooked egg noodles or cooked rice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crock Pot: Spray the inside of the crock pot with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking and make for easy cleanup.
  2. Layer the Ingredients: Place the boneless skinless chicken breasts evenly in the bottom of the crock pot. Sprinkle the entire packet of Italian dressing mix evenly over the chicken. Pour both the cream of chicken soup and cream of mushroom soup over the chicken and seasoning. Finally, distribute the cubed cream cheese evenly on top of everything.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Cover the crock pot with the lid and cook on Low heat for 4 to 6 hours, or on High heat for 2 to 3 hours. This slow cooking allows the chicken to become tender and the flavors to blend beautifully.
  4. Finish the Dish: Once cooked, remove the lid and stir the creamy mixture to combine all the ingredients into a smooth sauce. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces within the crock pot to distribute evenly. If the sauce is too thick, thin it by stirring in a little milk to achieve your desired consistency.
  5. Serve: Spoon the creamy Italian chicken mixture over cooked egg noodles or rice. Serve hot and enjoy this hearty, flavorful meal.

Notes

  • You can adjust cooking times depending on your crock pot’s temperature settings.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, omit thinning with milk, or add milk for a creamier texture.
  • Using chicken thighs instead of breasts adds extra juiciness and flavor, but will slightly alter cooking time.
  • Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 3 days and can be reheated gently on the stovetop or microwave.
