Description

Get the authentic flavor of Philly cheesesteak with a fraction of the effort using this simple and delicious Crock Pot Philly Cheesesteak recipe. Tender sliced beef, colorful bell peppers, and onions simmered to perfection in a savory sauce, all loaded onto toasted hoagie rolls and topped with melty provolone cheese.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef:

  • 2 pounds thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)

Vegetables:

  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced

Seasonings:

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Additional:

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 6 hoagie rolls, sliced lengthwise
  • 6 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Place the sliced beef, bell peppers, and onion into the crock pot. Sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Cook: Add Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Stir gently to combine. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the beef is tender and fully cooked.
  3. Assemble: Preheat the broiler. Load each hoagie roll with the meat and vegetable mixture. Top with a slice of provolone cheese.
  4. Broil: Place sandwiches on a baking sheet and broil for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For added flavor, toast the hoagie rolls with a little butter before filling.
  • You can substitute provolone with mozzarella or white American cheese if preferred.
