Description

These Delicious Garlic Potato Pops are a crispy and flavorful appetizer perfect for any gathering. Made with mashed potatoes, garlic, and a cheesy blend, these poppable bites are sure to be a hit!

Mashed Potato Mixture:

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes (cooled)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Coating:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mashed Potato Mixture: Melt butter in a skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant. Mix with mashed potatoes, Parmesan, mozzarella, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the Potato Balls: Roll the mixture into small balls.
  3. Coat the Potato Balls: Set up a dredging station with flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs. Coat each potato ball in flour, dip in egg, then roll in breadcrumbs.
  4. Fry the Potato Pops: Heat oil, fry the coated potato balls until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve: Drain on paper towels and serve warm with dipping sauce.

Notes

  • These can also be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes for a lighter version.
  • Add a pinch of chili flakes to the potato mixture for a spicy kick.
