Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate Drizzle
- 3 cups white chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
Snack Mix Base
- 4 cups multigrain Cheerios
- 4 cups Rice Chex cereal
- 2 cups pretzel sticks
- 1 cup roasted cashews (optional)
Mix-Ins
- 1 9-ounce bag peanut butter M&M eggs
- 1 cup pastel milk chocolate M&M’s
- ½ cup shredded, sweetened coconut
- Extra white chocolate chips, for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to ensure easy cleanup and prevent sticking.
- Melt White Chocolate: Place the white chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave and Stir: Heat the white chocolate mixture in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring well after each interval until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: Spread the Cheerios, Rice Chex, pretzel sticks, and roasted cashews (if using) over the prepared baking sheet and toss gently to mix evenly.
- Add Half of the M&M’s: Incorporate half of both peanut butter M&M eggs and pastel milk chocolate M&M’s into the dry mix for balanced flavor distribution.
- Drizzle White Chocolate: Pour the melted white chocolate evenly over the snack mixture on the baking sheet.
- Toss to Coat: Using a spatula or large spoon, quickly and gently toss the mixture so that all pieces are coated with the white chocolate.
- Add Remaining M&M’s and Coconut: Sprinkle the remaining M&M’s over the mix, then gently toss once more to combine. If desired, sprinkle with shredded coconut and extra white chocolate chips for added texture and presentation.
- Set the Mixture: Allow the coated snack mix to set at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the white chocolate has fully hardened.
- Store Properly: Transfer the set snack mix to a large bowl, jar with a cover, or resealable plastic bag. It can be made one to two days ahead and stored at room temperature.
Notes
- Coconut oil is optional; it helps white chocolate firm up more smoothly but can be omitted if unavailable.
- For easier cleanup, parchment paper is highly recommended on the baking sheet.
- You can substitute roasted cashews with other nuts like almonds or peanuts based on preference or dietary restrictions.
- Store the snack mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
- Feel free to customize the mix-ins according to taste or holiday themes.
