Scale
Wet Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Additions:
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Add Chocolate Chips: Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Bake: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
- Cool: Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let them finish setting on the baking sheet.
- You can use a mix of semisweet and milk chocolate chips for added flavor.
- Dough can be frozen and baked later directly from the freezer—just add 1–2 extra minutes to the bake time.
