  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mashed Potatoes: Place potatoes in a pot, cover with water, add salt, and boil until tender. Drain, mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper.
  2. Ground Beef and Gravy: Brown beef in olive oil, add onion and garlic, then flour. Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened, stir in butter.
  3. Serve beef and gravy over mashed potatoes, garnished with parsley.
