Ingredients
Scale
Turkey and Seasoning
- 1 (3–4 pound) boneless turkey breast
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Honey Maple Glaze
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a roasting pan with foil for easy cleanup and even roasting.
- Season the Turkey: In a small bowl, combine olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this mixture evenly all over the turkey breast to infuse flavor and help create a delicious crust.
- Make the Glaze: In another bowl, whisk together honey, pure maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and fresh thyme leaves until smooth. This glaze will add sweetness and an aromatic touch to the turkey.
- Prepare for Roasting: Place the seasoned turkey breast in the prepared roasting pan. Brush half of the honey maple glaze over the turkey for a sweet, glossy coating.
- Roast the Turkey: Roast the turkey in the preheated oven for 45 to 60 minutes. Every 15 minutes, baste the turkey with the remaining glaze to build layers of flavor and keep the breast moist.
- Check Internal Temperature: Use a meat thermometer to ensure the turkey has reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), which is safe for consumption.
- Rest and Serve: Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a tender, juicy result. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a splash of orange juice to the honey maple glaze before whisking.
- Leftover turkey can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
- Let the turkey rest adequately to keep it juicy when sliced.
- If fresh thyme is unavailable, dried thyme can be used but reduce the quantity to 1/2 teaspoon.
