Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Sauce
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat the skillet: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat to prepare for searing the chicken.
- Season and sear chicken: Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Place them in the hot skillet and sear for 6-7 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- Sauté garlic: In the same skillet, melt butter and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, taking care not to burn the garlic.
- Add liquids: Pour in chicken broth and fresh lemon juice into the skillet, stirring and bringing the sauce to a simmer.
- Combine chicken and sauce: Return the seared chicken to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and the chicken to be coated fully in the lemon garlic butter sauce.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the chicken and serve hot for a bright and zesty main dish.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken breasts in lemon juice and garlic for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Use low-sodium chicken broth to control the salt content of the dish.
- Serve with steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
- Ensure chicken is cooked through by checking that internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
