  2. Filling: Mix mascarpone, powdered sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla.
  3. Assembly: Roll out dough, spread filling, roll up, slice, twist, and place in a loaf pan. Let rise.
  4. Baking: Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake babka for 35–40 minutes.
  5. Syrup Glaze: Heat sugar and water, brush over baked babka.
  6. Serve: Cool before slicing.
