Description

Indulge in the rich and nutty flavors of these Pistachio Brigadeiros, a Brazilian candy treat that combines sweetened condensed milk, pistachios, and white chocolate for a delightful confection.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Brigadeiros:

  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup finely ground pistachios
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pistachios for rolling

Instructions

  1. Cook the Brigadeiros: In a medium nonstick saucepan, combine sweetened condensed milk, butter, ground pistachios, white chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and salt. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan, about 8–10 minutes.
  2. Cool and Shape: Transfer the mixture to a greased plate or shallow dish and let it cool to room temperature. With buttered hands, scoop teaspoon-sized portions and roll into balls.
  3. Coat the Brigadeiros: Roll each ball in chopped pistachios to coat. Optionally, place them in mini paper cups for serving.
  4. Storage: Store the brigadeiros in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Notes

  • For a smoother texture, sift the ground pistachios before cooking.
  • Alternatively, roll the brigadeiros in a mixture of powdered sugar and pistachios for a sweeter finish.
