- 1/4 cup almond butter (or peanut butter)
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together protein powder, cocoa powder, almond flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix applesauce, almond butter, honey, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Blend Batter: Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring just until blended. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Bake: Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
- Cool and Serve: Let cool before slicing into squares.
Notes
- For a vegan version, replace eggs with flax eggs (2 tablespoons ground flaxseed + 6 tablespoons water, rested 5 minutes) and use maple syrup.
