  • 1/4 cup almond butter (or peanut butter)
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together protein powder, cocoa powder, almond flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix applesauce, almond butter, honey, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Blend Batter: Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring just until blended. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  5. Bake: Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let cool before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, replace eggs with flax eggs (2 tablespoons ground flaxseed + 6 tablespoons water, rested 5 minutes) and use maple syrup.
