Ground Beef or Turkey:

Onion (diced):
1 small
Garlic (minced):
2 cloves
Kidney Beans (drained and rinsed):
1 can (15 ounces)
Black Beans (drained and rinsed):
1 can (15 ounces)
Diced Tomatoes (with juices):
1 can (15 ounces)
Tomato Sauce:
1 can (8 ounces)
Chili Powder:
2 tablespoons
Ground Cumin:
1 teaspoon
Smoked Paprika:
1/2 teaspoon
Salt:
1/2 teaspoon
Black Pepper:
1/4 teaspoon
Cayenne Pepper (optional):
1/4 teaspoon
Water or Beef Broth:
1/2 cup
Instructions
- Cook the Beef and Onion: In a large pot over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until browned and onion is soft.
- Add Garlic and Spices: Stir in garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, and cayenne if using. Cook to toast the spices.
- Combine Ingredients: Add beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and liquid. Simmer for 20–25 minutes.
- Adjust Seasoning and Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot with toppings.
