Ingredients
Puff Pastry:
1 sheet thawed,
Breakfast Sausage:
½ pound uncooked,
Cheddar Cheese:
½ cup shredded,
Dijon Mustard:
1 tablespoon (optional),
Egg Wash:
1 egg (beaten),
Flour:
all-purpose flour for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Pastry: Lightly flour your work surface and unfold the puff pastry. Smooth out any creases.
- Add Fillings: Spread Dijon mustard over the pastry if desired. Crumble raw sausage over the pastry, leaving a border. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
- Roll the Pastry: Roll the pastry tightly into a log, starting from the opposite edge. Seal the seam and brush with egg wash.
- Slice and Bake: Cut the log into rounds and place on the baking sheet. Brush with egg wash. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden.
- Serve: Let cool slightly before serving.
