Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
- 1 small jalapeño, finely minced (seeds removed for less heat)
- 1 small serrano pepper, finely minced (optional for extra spice)
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
- 1 small Roma tomato, diced
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Avocados: Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Scoop out the flesh into a medium mixing bowl. Mash the avocados with a fork until mostly smooth, leaving some small chunks to keep a pleasant texture.
- Add Vegetables and Herbs: Stir in the finely minced jalapeño and serrano pepper if using, the diced red onion, diced Roma tomato, chopped cilantro, and minced garlic. Mix gently to combine.
- Season the Guacamole: Add fresh lime juice, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if desired. Gently mix everything until well combined. Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasoning with additional salt or lime juice if needed.
- Serve: Serve the guacamole immediately as a dip with tortilla chips, or as a topping for tacos, burritos, or grilled meats.
Notes
- Use perfectly ripe avocados that yield slightly when pressed for the best flavor and creamy texture.
- To prevent browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole before refrigerating.
- Best enjoyed fresh the same day for optimal taste and color.
