Ingredients
Scale
Popcorn Base
- 1 cup popcorn kernels
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Coating & Toppings
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup green candy melts
- 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/4 cup green sprinkles
Instructions
- Pop the Popcorn: Use an air popper or stovetop method to pop 1 cup of popcorn kernels until fully popped and fluffy. Remove any unpopped kernels and place the popcorn in a large mixing bowl.
- Melt the Butter: In a saucepan over low heat, melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter slowly to avoid browning or burning.
- Add Candy Melts: Add 1 cup of green candy melts to the melted butter, stirring continuously until the mixture is completely smooth and well combined.
- Coat the Popcorn: Pour the melted butter and candy melt mixture evenly over the popped popcorn. Mix thoroughly to ensure all popcorn pieces are coated.
- Add Marshmallows and Sprinkles: Gently fold in 1/2 cup mini marshmallows and 1/4 cup green sprinkles, tossing carefully to distribute evenly without crushing the marshmallows.
- Cool and Set: Spread the coated popcorn mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Allow it to cool and set completely at room temperature, approximately 15-20 minutes.
- Serve: Once the coating has hardened, break the popcorn into clusters or pieces and serve immediately or store in an airtight container for later enjoyment.
Notes
- You can substitute green candy melts with white chocolate and green food coloring if desired.
- For an extra crunch, add chopped nuts or pretzels before cooling.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
- Use a silicone spatula to mix the coated popcorn gently to avoid breaking the marshmallows.
- If using stovetop popcorn, avoid burnt kernels for best taste and texture.
