Description

Delicious and easy-to-make stuffed pizza rolls filled with mozzarella, pepperoni, and savory seasonings. Perfect as a party appetizer or a quick snack, baked until golden and served with warm marinara for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Rolls

  • 1 pound pizza dough, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni slices
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

For Serving

  • 1/4 cup marinara sauce, warmed

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
  2. Roll Out Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a 10×14-inch rectangle, creating an even layer for easy filling.
  3. Spread Sauce: Evenly spread 3/4 cup of marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges to prevent overflow when rolling.
  4. Add Fillings: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce, then scatter mini pepperoni slices on top. Follow by sprinkling Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder for flavor.
  5. Roll Dough: Starting from the long side, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Pinch the seam to seal the edge and prevent it from opening during baking.
  6. Slice Rolls: Cut the log into 1-inch thick slices using a sharp knife, creating individual pizza rolls.
  7. Arrange and Brush: Place the rolls cut side up on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart. Brush the tops generously with melted butter to promote browning and add flavor.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes, until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese inside is bubbly and melted.
  9. Finish and Garnish: Remove rolls from the oven, brush with any remaining melted butter for extra richness, and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
  10. Serve: Warm the remaining 1/4 cup marinara sauce and serve alongside the pizza rolls for dipping.

Notes

  • You can customize the filling by adding cooked sausage, diced bell peppers, or olives.
  • For a vegetarian option, omit the pepperoni and substitute with sautéed vegetables.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
