Marinade:

- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, garlic, Dijon mustard, onion powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika until well combined.
- Place the tri-tip roast in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring it is fully coated. Seal and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight, turning occasionally to marinate evenly.
- Remove the tri-tip from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking to bring it to room temperature. Grill or roast as desired to your preferred doneness, then let rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
