How to Store, Freeze & Reheat

These rolls are delicious warm with a pat of butter, but they also shine alongside soups, stews, or a simple salad. For a fun dinner, serve them with garlic butter and a sprinkle of Parmesan.

Leftovers keep well in an airtight container for up to 2 days. To reheat, pop them in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes to bring back that fresh-baked feel. You can also freeze the baked rolls for up to a month—just thaw and reheat as needed.

🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and melted butter, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces and shape into balls. Place on a greased baking sheet, cover with a towel, and let rise for 10 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F. Brush rolls with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds or salt if desired.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Brush with extra melted butter if you like a soft crust.

👩🍳 Chef Elena’s Kitchen Notes & Storage

For extra softness, brush the rolls with melted butter right after baking. These rolls are best fresh, but you can store them in an airtight container for up to 2 days. To freeze, wrap tightly and freeze for up to 1 month; reheat in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes.
