1. Why This Recipe Works Every Time
In my test kitchen, I’m always chasing that perfect weeknight balance: quick enough for a busy Tuesday, but special enough to feel like a treat. Maple Magic came to me on a chilly autumn evening when I wanted something sweet and savory, with minimal dishes. The magic is in the glaze—it turns into a glossy, sticky coating that clings to every bite.
This recipe works every time because it’s forgiving and flexible. The chicken stays juicy, the veggies roast up tender, and the whole thing comes together on one sheet pan. My family asks for it weekly, and I love that it’s just as good for a casual family dinner as it is for meal prep lunches.

Maple Magic
Maple Magic is a cozy weeknight dinner where juicy chicken thighs are glazed in a sweet-savory maple Dijon sauce, with roasted sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts for a hearty, one-pan meal that feels like a hug on a plate.
🛒 Ingredients (Check Off As You Measure)
🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, 1 tbsp olive oil, garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In a large bowl, toss sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts with remaining 1 tbsp olive oil and a pinch of salt. Spread on a baking sheet.
- Place chicken thighs on top of the vegetables. Brush generously with half of the maple glaze.
- Roast for 20 minutes, then brush with remaining glaze and continue roasting for 5-8 minutes, until chicken is cooked through (165°F) and veggies are tender.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Spoon any pan juices over the chicken and veggies.
👩🍳 Chef Elena’s Kitchen Notes & Storage
For extra caramelization, broil for the last 2 minutes—just watch closely so the sugars don't burn. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months; reheat gently in the oven to keep the glaze sticky.
