1. Why This Recipe Works Every Time
In my test kitchen, I’m always looking for desserts that feel special but don’t demand a lot of fuss. Fried Cinnamon Apple Rings are exactly that—a rustic, golden treat that makes the whole house smell like a fall bakery. The first time I made them for my family, the rings disappeared before I could even set the plate down.
The magic is in the contrast: a crunchy, cinnamon-kissed shell that gives way to soft, juicy apple inside. It’s comfort food at its simplest, using ingredients you likely already have on hand, and it never fails to bring smiles.

Fried Cinnamon Apple Rings
Crispy golden rings of apple in a cinnamon-sugar coating, soft and juicy inside. This easy stovetop treat tastes like a warm apple fritter but comes together in minutes.

🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. In another bowl, beat milk, egg, and vanilla. Pour wet into dry and stir until smooth batter forms.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Pat apple rings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Dip each apple ring into the batter, letting excess drip off. Carefully place a few rings into the hot oil without crowding. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
- Use tongs to transfer fried rings to a paper towel-lined plate to drain for a minute. While still warm, toss each ring in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
- Serve immediately, warm. They're best fresh, but you can keep them in a warm oven (200°F) for up to 30 minutes before serving.
👩🍳 Chef Elena’s Kitchen Notes & Storage
Use firm, tart apples so they hold their shape during frying—Granny Smith or Honeycrisp are my go-tos. These are best eaten right away, but you can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheat in a toaster oven to crisp them up.
