How to Store, Freeze & Reheat

This cheesecake is best served cold, straight from the fridge, with a dollop of whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon. It’s wonderful on a Thanksgiving table or as a make-ahead dessert for a weeknight treat.

Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 4 days, covered tightly. You can also freeze individual slices on a baking sheet, then wrap them in plastic and foil for up to a month—thaw in the fridge overnight and they’ll taste just as fresh.

🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Press firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Chill while preparing the filling.
  2. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add apple butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg; beat until well combined and creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until no streaks remain.
  4. Pour the filling over the crust and smooth the top. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until set.
  5. Before serving, run a knife around the edge of the pan, release the springform, and slice. Optionally garnish with a drizzle of apple butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

👩🍳 Chef Elena’s Kitchen Notes & Storage

Make sure your cream cheese is truly softened to avoid lumps—leave it out for 30 minutes before mixing. Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days, or freeze the cheesecake (without garnish) for up to 1 month; thaw overnight in the fridge.
