How to Store, Freeze & Reheat

Serve this cheesecake chilled, straight from the fridge, with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s also wonderful with a drizzle of caramel sauce for extra indulgence.

Store any leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 5 days. If you want to freeze it, skip the crumble topping—freeze the cheesecake plain, then add fresh crumble after thawing for the best texture.

🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, and melted butter; press into bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then cool.
  2. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and 1 cup sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla and sour cream; mix until just combined. Pour over cooled crust.
  3. In a skillet, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add apples, 2 tbsp brown sugar, and cinnamon; cook 5 minutes until slightly softened. Spoon apples evenly over cheesecake batter.
  4. In a small bowl, combine flour, oats, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and cold butter; cut in with a pastry blender until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
  5. Bake for 55–60 minutes, until edges are set and center is slightly jiggly. Cool completely, then refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving.

👩🍳 Chef Elena’s Kitchen Notes & Storage

For a cleaner slice, chill the cheesecake overnight and use a sharp knife dipped in hot water between cuts. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days, or freeze the whole cheesecake (without crumble topping) for up to 2 months.
