How to Store, Freeze & Reheat

These sliders are best fresh out of the oven, but they also reheat like a dream. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For a quick lunch, microwave one for 30 seconds, but for that crispy texture again, pop them in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes.

For serving, I love these with a side of coleslaw or sweet potato fries for a full meal. They’re also perfect for parties—set them out on a platter with extra BBQ sauce for dipping. If you’re making them ahead, assemble everything but hold the butter brush until just before baking, then add it and bake when you’re ready.

🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns in half horizontally and place the bottoms in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat, then stir in BBQ sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  3. Spoon the beef mixture evenly over the bun bottoms. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and crispy fried onions.
  4. Place the bun tops over the filling. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with brown sugar, then brush the mixture over the tops of the buns.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden and slightly crispy. Slice into individual sliders and serve warm.

👩🍳 Chef Elena’s Kitchen Notes & Storage

For extra flavor, toast the buns lightly before assembling to prevent sogginess. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, and reheat in the oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes to keep them crisp.
