How to Store, Freeze & Reheat

Serve these cookies warm with a glass of cold milk, or stack them on a pretty plate for a party. They’re also fantastic crumbled over vanilla ice cream for a quick dessert.

Keep them in a cookie jar at room temperature for up to 5 days—if they last that long. For longer storage, freeze the baked cookies in a zip-top bag for up to 3 months; just thaw at room temperature or pop them in the microwave for 10 seconds.

🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, and cinnamon. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden but the centers look slightly soft. Let cool on the sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

👩🍳 Chef Elena’s Kitchen Notes & Storage

For extra chew, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking—it deepens the flavor and prevents spreading. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or freeze the baked cookies for up to 3 months.
