How to Store, Freeze & Reheat

These rolls are best enjoyed warm, straight from the oven, with a cup of strong coffee. Leftovers keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days—just reheat in the microwave or a low oven.

You can also freeze the baked rolls (without glaze) for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight, reheat, and glaze fresh for that just-baked taste.

Bourbon Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls

These bourbon maple bacon cinnamon rolls are soft, gooey, and packed with sweet, smoky, and boozy flavor. The crispy bacon bits add a salty crunch that balances the rich maple-bourbon glaze perfectly.

🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and 1 tbsp sugar in warm milk. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add melted butter, eggs, and yeast mixture. Knead until a soft dough forms, about 5-7 minutes. Cover and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour, or until doubled.
  3. Roll dough into a 16x12-inch rectangle. Spread softened butter over the surface, then sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and crumbled bacon.
  4. Roll tightly from the long side and cut into 12 even slices. Place in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 25-28 minutes, until golden. Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls. Serve immediately.

👩🍳 Chef Elena’s Kitchen Notes & Storage

For extra crisp bacon, cook it until just shy of burnt—it stays crunchy even after baking. These rolls are best fresh, but you can store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in the microwave for 20 seconds. Freeze unbaked rolls for up to 2 months—just thaw overnight and bake as directed.
