How to Store, Freeze & Reheat

This dish is great for meal prep—portion it into containers and it’ll keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. The flavors actually meld and deepen overnight, so leftovers might taste even better. To reheat, add a splash of milk or chicken broth to revive the creamy texture.

For longer storage, freeze the chicken and sauce (without the pasta) for up to 2 months. Cook fresh linguine when you’re ready to serve, then toss with the thawed sauce. It’s a smart way to have a cozy dinner on hand for those extra-busy nights.

🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Cook linguine according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Season chicken with salt and pepper. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tbsp butter and cook chicken until golden and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium, add remaining 2 tbsp butter, garlic, smoked paprika, and cayenne. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream, bring to a simmer, then stir in Parmesan until melted and smooth. Add chicken back to the skillet.
  5. Toss in cooked linguine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce. Stir in parsley, season with salt and pepper, and serve immediately.

👩🍳 Chef Elena’s Kitchen Notes & Storage

For extra richness, use a splash of chicken broth in the sauce if it gets too thick. Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 3 days—just reheat gently with a little milk or cream to bring back the silky texture.
