The process is foolproof: mix, press, sprinkle, bake. Start by pressing the crust into the pan – I like to use the bottom of a measuring cup to get it even and tight.

Then drizzle the condensed milk slowly over the crust, and scatter your toppings evenly. Don’t stir – just press them down gently. Bake until golden, and you’ll see the edges bubble and the center set into a gooey, golden goodness.

These Magic Cookie Bars are a buttery, chewy, and indulgent treat loaded with chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut, and nuts, all held together by sweetened condensed milk. Home cooks love them because they're incredibly easy to throw together with pantry staples and disappear fast at any gathering.

🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form an even crust.
  3. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust. Sprinkle the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut, and nuts over the top, pressing them down gently with a spatula.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set. The top should be lightly browned.
  5. Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into 24 bars. Store in an airtight container.

👩🍳 Chef Elena’s Kitchen Notes & Storage

Press the crust firmly so it doesn't crumble when you cut the bars. For extra gooeyness, let them cool for just 15 minutes before slicing – they'll be messier but irresistible. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
