How to Store, Freeze & Reheat

Serve this over creamy mashed potatoes, buttered egg noodles, or rice to catch every drop of gravy. A side of green beans or peas adds color and balances the richness.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or microwave, adding a splash of broth if the gravy thickens. For freezing, place cooled patties and gravy in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months—thaw overnight before reheating.

🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined; shape into 4 oval patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add patties and cook 3-4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add sliced onions and cook over medium heat, scraping up browned bits, until soft and golden, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over onions and stir for 1 minute. Gradually pour in beef broth and water, stirring constantly until smooth. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Return patties to the skillet, spoon gravy over them, and simmer covered for 10-12 minutes until cooked through. Stir in butter if desired and serve hot.

👩🍳 Chef Elena’s Kitchen Notes & Storage

For extra tender patties, don't overmix the meat—gently shape and handle as little as possible. Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze the patties and gravy separately for up to 2 months.
