How to Store, Freeze & Reheat

These bang bang chicken thighs are fantastic over steamed rice or with a side of roasted veggies. I love spooning extra sauce over everything—it’s that good.

Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 4 days in an airtight container. To reheat, warm them in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of water to loosen the sauce. The skin won’t be as crispy, but the flavor will still knock your socks off.

🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season all over with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place chicken skin-side down and cook undisturbed for 6-8 minutes, until the skin is golden and crispy. Flip and cook for another 5 minutes, then remove to a plate.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and rice vinegar to make the bang bang sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer. Return the chicken thighs to the pan, skin-side up, spooning some sauce over each piece.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 10-12 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through (internal temp 165°F). Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

👩🍳 Chef Elena’s Kitchen Notes & Storage

For extra crispiness, don't move the chicken while the skin is searing—let it get deep golden before flipping. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days; reheat in a skillet over medium heat to bring back the crisp.
